2008 3AW PUB OF THE
YEAR
The Carringbush Hotel is a traditional Melbourne pub, tucked in the
back streets of historic Abbotsford. With two public bars, bistro,
dining room, beer garden and private function room, The Carringbush
can cater for everyone’s needs.
The bistro menu features classic pub fare, from lemon pepper
calamari and steak sandwiches to lamb shanks and chicken
parmagiana. In the dining room, options are extensive and based
around modern Australian interpretations of largely Euro-inspired
dishes, perhaps seared Wagyu Beef Carpaccio or Sea Salt & Lemon
Pepper Calamari, tender and juicy Eye Fillet steak or Char Sui
pork.
The bar at The Carringbush is stocked with a great range of local
and imported beers (it has been said that the hotel serves the best
tap beer in Melbourne!) along with an extensive selection of
spirits and liqueurs. The wine list covers the length and width of
Australia, and also features a selection of imported treats.
Functions can be held in any of our rooms and can be arranged for
groups of 20-200. Whether it’s a formal, sit-down dinner,
after-work drinks and nibbles or a corporate meeting, The
Carringbush has a room and a package to suit. Prices are
competitive and, with no room hire fee, this could be the perfect
venue for your next function.
Every Sunday afternoon, The Carringbush transforms into an intimate
band venue, with live music running from 4pm onwards. Entry is free
and the kitchen even throws some finger-food in to keep everyone
happy. What better way to wrap up a weekend than with some live
music and a few drinks with mates?
So whether you’re looking for lunch or dinner, a quiet (or not so
quiet) drink, a work meeting, private party or some live music, The
Carringbush Hotel has it all.
